Marc Edelberg Partner - Audit
Marc joined Mazars as a Partner in September 2007. Prior to this, he was a partner at another mid Tier firm for over 10 years. Marc is a JSE-accredited registered auditor specialising in the audits of listed and large private and multinational groups. He has been the lead engagement partner as well as serving as the concurring and engagement quality control review on various groups operating in the property, mining and manufacturing industries.
Marc heads up the International Desk in Cape Town and is the partner in charge of the Estates and Money Market departments. He also served as the quality officer for a number of years in the Cape Town office and is part of the internal review team for South Africa and International.
Marc obtained his B.Comm degree and GDA (Graduate Degree in Accounting) at the University of Cape Town and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989.
In January 1989, Marc joined Kessel Feinstein as an article clerk. On completion of his articles at the end of 1991, he joined the South African Revenue Services in fulfillment of his compulsory military service. After completing his service, Marc worked in commerce for two years as a Financial Manager to a clothing manufacturer and later at a listed retail chain.
Marc rejoined Grant Thornton Kessel Feinstein in 1996 and became a partner in 1997. He joined Mazars as a Partner in 2007.
Marc has been involved in a wide variety of audits with both listed and unlisted companies. He provides business consulting to Owner Managed Businesses and owner manager/family issues.
He also has experience as a Human Resources Partner and has previously served on the Management Committee at his previous firm. Marc was the quality officer at Mazars in Cape Town as well as the chairman of the Cape Town Audit committee.
His clients range from privately held businesses to large listed and unlisted concerns.
